MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

This role will work within corporate finance and capital allocation and be responsible to research, pursue and transact on new business opportunities with the aim to expand the scope and growth of the business in line with the Mediclinic strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Conduct advanced valuation, financial analysis and modelling in support of investment decisions
• Function as corporate finance subject matter expert with regards to new business opportunities, capital allocation and investment projects
• Conduct research and analysis on mergers and acquisitions, various countries of opportunity and large capital projects in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
• Build and maintain sound relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Establish and / or negotiate transaction terms and agreements
• Conduct due diligence, execute and implement transactions
• Analyse optimal capital structure and potential sources of funding and, where appropriate, raise equity, debt or hybrid instrument capital
• Compile and submit motivations, business plans and reports to relevant stakeholders and key decision-makers
• Provide input and assistance in the preparation of financial results for strategic financial planning

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

Qualified, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or other relevant tertiary or postgraduate degree.

DESIRED EDUCATION:

Masters in relevant degree, MBA or PhD in relevant field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

3 years corporate finance experience (post articles where relevant)

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

3 - 5 years corporate finance or functioning as an Investment Manager in an investment bank, private equity firm, hedge fund, big-4 audit firm or large multi-national company

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Analyse business and financial data
• Analytical review and interpretation of multiple sources of information
• Contract provisions
• Financial principles, procedures and theories, including an understanding of value vs. price, and the ability to evaluate cash flow scenarios
• Forecast future cash flows and risks
• Mathematical concepts in practice
• Microsoft Office applications (Word / PowerPoint / Excel)
• Relevant statutory requirements and legislations (International Financial Reporting Standards / company law / competition law / commercial law)
• Report writing and presentation of researched information to multiple decision maker groups
• Working under pressure / tight deadlines with accuracy
• Valuation models / methodologies and techniques
