Job Description

Senwes is seeking the services of a Corporate Accountant who will be responsible for corporate financial reporting, monitoring of control environment as well as responsible for financial maintenance and reporting in the IT processes and to execute and maintain service level agreements and administration with IT clients.


Budgeting and forecasting.



Gather historic financial information, apply expected financial and economic indicators on historical and new information. Incorporate all changes to current business model and structure. Prepare budget (annually) and forecasts (quarterly) for management. Test expenditure against policy/budget. Analyse and recommend savings in expenditures and report variances.

Financial and operational reporting/authorisation.



Scrutinize financial entries on SAP per cost centre. Process payments to be done to external vendors for correctness (VAT, calculation, within budget, etc.). Clearing of balance sheet accounts and internal vendors/customers. Compile business case or EVA calculation for relevant project costs or CAPEX expenditure. Processing of month end journals. Generate financial reports on SAP and distribute to the relevant key receivers. Compile the monthly FD report with relevant information for EXCO to enhance business decision making. SLA billing and other month end billings. Prepare monthly balance sheet recons. Compile Tax pack and distribute to Group Tax Accountant. Compile audit committee reports. Assist in integrated report duties Process bi-annual and annual journals.

Corporate control




Test and prepare transactions against policies/budgets. Monthly audit of journals, general payments, contract payments, tender processes and reconciliations. Identify deviations to policies and procedures and propose solutions for an implement improved control environment. Test accuracy, classification and existence of transactions. Ensure proper reconciliation and review of balance sheet accounts and income statement accounts. Process/authorise payment of vendors. Manage balance sheet items/ratios. Test the correct accounting treatment of new business processes. Cash flow projections to treasury. Advise and coach business managers on control improvements. Management of all sundry accounts. Ensure that a business case is in place for all relevant projects. Evaluate financial performance of project against business case presented.

Administration of fixed assets.




Preparation and capturing of acquisitions and disposal of assets. Comply to IFRS (IAS16) standards. Maintain and update fixed asset register. Conduct the depreciation run. Coordinate theoretical vs actual asset (PPE) count. Compile annual CAPEX budget and report (CAPEX) capital expenditure against budget and forecasts (monthly). Compile PPE notes for audit report, tax pack and financial statements. Post implementation of projects: evaluate financial performance of project against business case presented.

Continuous process improvements:




Continuously evaluate existing asset accounting processes to identify areas for improvement or optimisation. Propose and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Explore opportunities for automation in asset accounting processes, such as utilising software tools for data reconciliation or depreciation calculations. Implement automation solutions to streamline routine tasks and reduce manual errors.


Qualifications:

Relevant bachelor's degree. Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles.


Requirements (South Africa):

Three years relevant accounting experience. Familiarity with asset management, especially large-scale industrial setting. Understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.
