Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission Core Network Equipment, including CAP Routers, in accordance with SAPS technical standards.
• Provide enda??toa??end support for Core Network infrastructure, including proactive maintenance, upgrades, and incident resolution.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of WAN environments to ensure optimal network performance and minimal downtime.
• Implement secure, scalable, and resilient WAN solutions across distributed SAPS sites.
• Produce technical documentation, configuration records, and commissioning reports.
• Collaborate with the technical teams and OEM vendors to ensure compliance with operational and security requirements.
• Conduct roota??cause analysis and implement corrective actions for network faults.
• Provide experta??level guidance on network architecture, best practices, and optimization strategies.

Experience

• A minimum of ten (10) years' handsa??on experience in:
• Implementation of WAN solutions
• Configuration and support of enterprisea??grade network equipment
• Troubleshooting complex network environments
• Commissioning and testing of Core Network infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience working in secure or missiona??critical environments (public sector, law enforcement, defence, or similar) is advantageous.

Qualifications & Certifications

• OEM Experta??Level Certification, such as:
• Huawei Certified Internetwork Expert (HCIE) or
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, or equivalent (preferred).

Technical Competencies

• Strong expertise in routing, switching, and WAN technologies.
• Deep understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Proficiency with enterprisea??grade routers, firewalls, and network management tools.
• Ability to design, deploy, and maintain higha??availability network architectures.
• Familiarity with QoS, MPLS, VPNs, and network monitoring systems.
