Duties/Pligte
In consultation with the respective comprehensive partners, their coordinators and the Director: Centre for Global Engagement, the incumbent will develop, coordinate and oversee the execution of work plans for the respective partnerships of the Comprehensive Partnership Portfolio (CPP).
Partnership development and workplan activities will include implementing agreement provisions, monitoring and evaluating workplans, and partnership interventions where necessary to ensure the successful implementation of CPP workplans. It will also include, where necessary, arranging meetings to ensure the above.
Developing and overseeing the seed funding projects within each comprehensive partnership from joint development, managing the call within SU, advising interested parties and then, in collaboration with the international counterparts, leading the awards process. M&E will form part of the seed funding process.
Executing and monitoring the individual Comprehensive Partner Workplans, in consultation with the respective partner and the Director: Centre for Global Engagement.
Within SU International, the incumbent will work closely with team members of the Centre for Global Engagement, the Centre for Collaboration in Africa and the International Stakeholders Engagement working group to ensure the transformative impact of the CPP activities.
Working closely and coordinating the CPP activities with various stakeholders within Stellenbosch University, such as academics involved in seed funding projects and the Postgraduate Office, regarding matters of Joint PhDs.
Providing support to the Director: Centre for Global Engagement, who will be engaging with academic environments to ensure buy-in and encouraging the uptake of opportunities offered by the CPP. This activity will also be pursued independently where appropriate and necessary.
Coordinating with the Coordinator: Marketing and Communication, to appropriate and impactful communication regarding CPP opportunities and initiatives.
Coordinating with the Coordinator: Multilateral Collaboration and Information Management, to ensure the effective information management of the CPP.
Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager: Unit for Partnerships, to ensure CPP alignment with the activities of the Unit for Partnerships.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
Bachelor's degree equivalent to NQF 7 as minimum.
Five years' relevant experience within a higher education institution.
Strong, systematic administrative and coordination skills.
Self-management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and being a "hands-on" team player with a demonstrated record of accomplishment to date.
An ability to engage, verbally and in writing, successfully with individuals across various levels, within and external to the organisation.
The ability to take initiative, exercise judgement, solve problems and work accurately and to deadline with minimal supervision.
Strong understanding of and sensitivity to different cultural issues.
Proven computer proficiency (in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet).
Proven project and workplan management skills.
Experience of working with international university partnerships.
