We are a growing maintenance company providing high-quality services across gas, plumbing, drainage, electrical, cleaning and multi-trade solutions primarily within London's property management sector. Our team of around 30 staff including 10 field engineers is dedicated to delivering reliable and professional service to our clients.

Role Overview





We are seeking a hands-on strategic COO / Operations Director to manage and optimise our UK operations from South Africa. This position is ideal for an experienced operational leader with a proven ability to drive efficiency, lead remote teams and implement scalable processes to support growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities




Lead and support a team of approximately 30 staff, one-third based in the UK and two-thirds in South Africa including field engineers. Ensuring high performance, development and engagement. Oversee daily operations remotely, ensuring smooth workflows and consistent service quality. Develop and implement operational processes, policies and KPIs to optimise efficiency and enhance client satisfaction. Coordinate scheduling, resource allocation and job prioritisation across multiple teams. Monitor operational and financial performance, reporting regularly to the Director/Board. Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations and company policies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and operational excellence.



Requirements




Proven experience in operational leadership, within maintenance, facilities, or building services. Strong background in managing both office and field-based teams, including remote leadership. Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Experience with KPIs, budgeting, resource management and process improvement. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to guide, mentor and support teams remotely. Familiarity with UK operational, regulatory and health & safety standards. Solid technical understanding of multi-trade maintenance services. Experience supporting international or cross-border operations is advantageous.
