The Control Room Operator is a shift role responsible for the effective operation & control shaft conditions by monitoring the control systems and to ensure all variables remain within the prescribed limits during a shift.
Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Assist Engineering employees to maintain equipment in Control Room area
• Assist during breakdowns and emergencies by processing urgent work orders and procurement of required spares Supports a housekeeping program
• Facilitates or manages a tool store function
• Assist in ensuring that the SAP PM, MM and CO systems are properly supported
• Actively participate in spares and material acquisition
• Effective monitoring, control & reporting of the shaft operation, conveyor systems and any incidents, where applicable, during a shift.
• Coordinating Control Room Operations
• Support UG Emergencies - be licensed and fit to drive UG ambulance

This role is at a C1 level reporting to Planned Maintenance Planner
Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric

Experience:

• 3 years' experience working on shaft

Knowledge & Skills

• Passed Control Room operator specific training module
• Role specific computer skills
• Sound understanding of underground mining operations

Additional requirements:

• Computer literacy
• First Aid Certificate
• Valid certificate of fitness for underground work
