Position: Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Industry: Mining
Location: Phalaborwa - Limpopo
Salary: Market-Related Salary
Purpose of the position:
- Maintaining the control systems on the Plant to ensure optimal Plant availability.
- Programming but not limited to PLC and SCADA networks and assisting instrumentation technicians and other technical staff with fault finding.
- Initiating, motivating, and executing in-house projects as required to improve processes, the level of automation and maintaining Plant availability (replacement strategy).
- BSc / BTech Instrumentation / Electronic Engineering.
- Post Graduate Management Qualification.
- 5 years plus relevant experience in the Mining / Chemical Mineral Plant environment at middle management level.
- General Knowledge and experience of a production plant will be an advantage.
- Compiling required documentation and doing all programming on both PLC and the SCADA systems.
- Coordinating the commissioning of the project with technicians and other disciplines.
- Administrating software changes by keeping record of changes and changing the code as required for the changes.
- Assisting technicians with fault finding and other disciplines such as electricians.
- Acting as maintenance Superintendent.
- Completed the legal examination 2.6.1 appointment in accordance with MHSA (mine Health and Safet Act).
