ey Tasks:



Implement systems for the effective control and monitoring of Advanced Technology Automation products. Understanding of configuration management and experience with Windchill or eB software will be advantageous Implement and enhance control system standards for machine interoperability and external client connectivity. Ensure interfacing to client control systems is implemented effectively. Service authority to meet clients commissioning milestones and service level agreement requirements. Develop and review code. Perform sub-system level tests and record the results. Design, development and commissioning of Human Machine Interfaces and Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Interfaces for Advanced Technology Automation products including the setting of standards. Investigate and propose ideal instrumentation solutions for the specific environment to be used in. Advisory role to the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Discipline and the Research & Development function into instrumentation selection. Develop electrical systems as needed for Advanced Technology Automation products. Technical design documentation, report writing, deliver presentations and hold design reviews. Formulation of product data packs. Strict adherence to all internal HSE policies and procedures as well as all legal regulations/requirements.

Qualifications

-Formal qualifications:

Minimum qualification is a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Specializing in control and instrumentation

Role Specific Knowledge:



0-5 years' experience in design, development, commissioning and interfacing of control and instrumentation systems. Familiarity with peer review and presentation of technical work. Experience with control system interfacing standards and best practices. Experience with instrumentation selection and configuration.

Knowledge and Skills required for the role:



Executing actions under the direction of a senior engineer. Solving Problems, either from existing knowledge or by reading up and generating new knowledge Ability to get to grips with a new body of knowledge such that can make contributions in new areas Follow a structured process: Design tests, perform tests, analyse results, place results in context, propose next steps. System level understanding. Responsible for the C&I development of specific components or subsystems. Focusses on executing tasks and projects assigned by more senior engineers. Simulating, Designing, prototyping, testing, data pack completion. Responsible for the technical performance of a subsystem of a product. The primary focus is on individual technical contributions. Requirement to become an expert in the use of existing and new technology (e.g. fieldbus standards, sensors, instruments). Requirement to apply new domain-specific methods, e.g. machine learning, data science, image processing, signal processing. Knowledge of C&I bus systems (e.g. ASI, IO Link, Profibus, Profinet, OPC UA) Ability to learn about and apply new domain-specific methods, e.g. cloud computing, Internet of things, remote diagnostics, artificial intelligence. Knowledge of control system concepts, practices and procedures. Control systems programming and networking knowledge. Good software debugging and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project development methodologies. Knowledge of instrumentation operation and their selection for differing operational environments. Knowledge of the applicable safety regulations to be applied to the design of safety systems.
Management


Making and carrying out project plans for own work. Manage own time and delivery to meet project requirements. Supervision or oversight of work is required.
Financial


Interacting with established suppliers for standard items Interacting with new suppliers to assess the applicability of new items or components Project budget control for small projects
