Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join their team of automation specialists.
As a key member of our systems integration team, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of control systems and instrumentation solutions across a range of industrial sectors.
The role involves both office-based engineering and on-site commissioning activities.
Minimum Requirements:

  • BEng in Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, or Control Engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in industrial automation and control systems
  • Platforms:
  • Siemens (e.g., S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal, WinCC)
  • Rockwell Automation (e.g., ControlLogix, FactoryTalk)
  • Schneider Electric (e.g., Modicon, EcoStruxure)
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
  • Experience with process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level sensors, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience in panel design, wiring schematics, and electrical standards
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in the Mining, Water, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, or Energy sectors
  • Knowledge of functional safety (e.g., SIL assessments, safety PLCs)
  • Familiarity with version control and project documentation systems
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and instrumentation datasheets
  • Basic understanding of industrial networking and cybersecurity
  • Project management or site supervision experience is a plus
  • EPlan/ CAD experience
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and implement control and automation systems using Siemens, Rockwell, and Schneider Electric platforms.
  • Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA software in accordance with project requirements.
  • Design and specify instrumentation and control panels (hardware and software).
  • Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests).
  • Integrate field devices (sensors, actuators, VSDs, etc.) with control systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to define control philosophies and functional design specifications.
  • Prepare project documentation, including control system architecture, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
  • Provide on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and support services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (IEC, ISO, etc.) and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, IT) and subcontractors to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support project planning and costing activities, including estimation of engineering effort.
