Mint Wellness, our Spa chain, seeks seasonal senior therapists to join their busy team from October to April.

The senior spa therapists must ensure that all necessary hygiene and health standards are maintained. They are expected to treat all customers with the utmost care and professionalism to create a welcoming and calm atmosphere. As a senior therapist, you must continually upskill yourself with industry training as well as internal training provided. There must be an inherent need to grow specialised treatment skills as well as administration skills. Target driven and focused on elevating retail and/or treatment sales. Must appear presentable according to industry standards at all time as well as pay attention to personal care.

Qualifications and experience

• Matric
• Beauty therapy diploma from CIDESCO, SAAHSP and/or ITEC
• Qualification must be at least 3 years
• 3 years industry / working experience
• Comfortable with the responsibility of all duties and procedures within the spa
• Computer literate
• Sound knowledge of Opera and ESP systems is required
• Experienced in massage, facials, all waxing, manicure, pedicure, Gelish and spa specific treatments

Duties and responsibilities

Treatments

• Must be familiar with all treatment protocols
• Must have a clear understanding of all Mint Spa related products
• Ensure all services are delivered to the highest standards
• Carry our accurate skin analysis and give advice about skin and body care

Administration

• Maintain client records with a confidential and effective system
• Develop expert level knowledge of ESP and Opera
• Show interest in treatment and product training
• Use down-time as up-time to improve knowledge and services

Upsell and Communication

• Give expert advice about products carried in the spa
• Build and maintain client relationships and communicate with clients on a regular basis to inform them of specials and anything that might interest them
• Upsell products and services

Training

• Ongoing online training for personal development is required
• Develop an mindful culture within yourself and the team
• Attend all training sessions
• Working alongside other therapists and managers for career and skill development

General standards

• Maintain a high standard of hygiene on a daily basis
• Deep clean of treatments rooms to be done monthly
• Taking responsibility for spa equipment
• Ensure waxing station is clean and presentable at all times
• Ensure all nail stations are neat and organised at all times
• Ensure that manicure and pedicure equipment is sterilised
• Maintaining UV cabinets

Institutional worth

• Keep up to date with trends
• Be back-up for other therapists when needed
• Oversee treatment rooms with regards to products required
• Cross-promotion and selling of the spa services with the in-house reservations team
• Be invested in developing Mint as a brand
