Job Description


The role of the Content Creator is to create informative and original articles for media update, as well as blog posts for Newsclip and affiliate brands.

Content Creation:

  • Create original content for media update.
  • Identify topics of interest for media update articles, Q&As, blogs and social posts.
  • Create articles in various formats such as long and short form written content, quote images, infographics, and videos.
  • Interview various sources to gather information for original stories and Q&As.
  • Write social media posts for original content and press releases for the assigned platforms.
  • Research relevant topics to identify areas of interest for readers.
  • Identify topics of interest and create blogs for Newsclip and affiliate brands when necessary.
  • Proofread and edit content, spelling, grammar, and punctuation of content produced.
Platforms:
  • Use Dash efficiently in order to upload images and embed media links.
  • Use graphic software effectively, such as Canva.
  • Use social media scheduling tools to manage published content.
  • Use analytics tools for various social platforms to compile social performance insights.
Administrations:
  • Effectively make use of project management tools such as Asana, workflow and Restya.
  • Post articles onto the relevant calendars with categories, working title and deadlines.
  • Share knowledge of trends to improve the media update platform and social media initiatives.
Research:
  • Keep up with local and international trends in media, marketing, public relations, and social media.
  • Conduct adequate research to ensure information is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure to check the credibility of different sources used and list sources.
Communication:
  • Communicate ideas with the team and participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Attend weekly meetings with media update and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication on a regular basis on the various communication platforms.
  • Communicate with Newsclip and affiliate brands for information regarding blogs and social media posts.
  • Liaise with the Development teams to ensure all technical queries are resolved.
  • Communicate with PR agencies regarding potential interviews and events.
  • Attend relevant industry events as necessary.
Education:
  • Completed degree in a relevant field of studies such as languages, communication, journalism, or creative writing.
Experience:
  • 2-5 years' experience of writing in the fields of journalism and creative writing.
Competencies:
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to convey messages in a creative manner.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate deadlines and projects.
  • Effective and efficient written and verbal communication.
