Job Purpose



The Consulting Manager - Employee Benefits is responsible for leading, managing, and developing a team of consultants to deliver high-quality employee benefits solutions to clients. The role focuses on ensuring strong client relationships, driving strategic benefit advice, and supporting business growth while maintaining compliance, service excellence, and operational efficiency. The Consulting Manager plays a key role in translating client needs into effective benefit strategies that enhance employee wellbeing and organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities:



OPERATIONS AND REGIONAL MANAGEMENT

:

Provide the supervisor with the monthly operations report. Review the reports, meeting notes, presentations, and projects of your respective advisors. Staff leave Management. Attend client and provider strategic meetings and influence the objective/outcome of the meeting. Compile strategic reports, presentation, project plans and communication for clients and providers. Technical consulting Resolve escalated queries, service complaints and disputes. Monitor and manage capacity within your region, staff leave, travel arrangement, and approve travel claims. Manage a team of Regional Advisors by communicating their roles and responsibilities, help them structure their workflow (i.e. weekly project plan) and monitor consultants that are performing under supervision (compliance) and update their portfolio of evidence. Supervise and support the Advisors in performing their duties through weekly workflows and monthly/quarterly performance reviews. Identify areas where Advisors require support, training, and development. Manage poor performance through appropriate disciplinary process and action.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

:

Develop and maintain a strong relationship with key individuals within your region. Conduct monthly CRM calls to all category 1 and two clients. Conduct quarterly meetings with the senior management team within each advisor under your portfolio. Monitor client satisfaction and ensure that the concerns identified are addressed soonest. Respond to poor service ratings within 48 hours.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:



There will be special projects allocated to you to oversee and manage. You will be required to design a project plan, present the plan to the team involved, delegate tasks and provide progress report to the team.

CROSS SELLING:



Identify cross selling opportunities within your regions of clients and create a platform/opportunity for sales. Ensure you achieve revenue targets set.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

:

Tertiary qualification. Fit & Proper compliant (NQF Level 5, Regulatory Exams), Financial Planning Higher Certificate (NQF 6) (preferred), Management Certificate/Diploma/Degree and continuous learning is expected. Driver's licence & own vehicle. 5year experience in Employees Benefits/ Health Care Consulting and 3-year experience in people management.

Ensure clear, effective, and professional communication to clients. Always adhere to high standards of quality and professionalism (punctuality, formal dress code, professional written and verbal communication. Work collaboratively and efficiently with other team members and provide support.
