Consultant and Client Relationship Manager - Market Related

A leading strategy advisory firm in Johannesburg is seeking a Consultant and Client relationship manager to join their purpose-driven team. What You'll Do

As a Consultant and Client Relationship Manager within Transformation and Strategy Advisory, your day-to-day activities will involve

Facilitate strategy sessions with client teams to develop comprehensive and sustainable transformation plans tailored to organisational needs. Design innovative solutions for the adoption and implementation of change initiatives that align with best practices in transformation and empowerment. Collaborate closely with client stakeholders including Board members and Executive teams to communicate transformation strategies effectively both internally and externally. Serve as a trusted technical advisor by interpreting relevant legislation such as BEE Act, Skills development and Employment Equity Act, providing guidance on compliance and value chain enhancement. Special focus on Financial Services Sector Codes, Property Sector Codes, Tourism Sector Codes (Experience crucial) Advise clients on supply chain localisation strategies, increasing spend with SMMEs, improving BEE performance, and formulating impactful community projects under Socio-Economic Development pillars. Gather and analyse complex client data to support B-BBEE audit preparation, facilitate on-site audits, and address related queries efficiently. Oversee project implementation, operational management, and commercial oversight of your client practice to ensure sustainability and efficiency. Lead a team of consultants by managing capacity, responding promptly to client requests, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards. Drive the adoption of company systems and processes within your team while developing new products to meet evolving client needs. Mentor junior team members by providing direction on change management best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

To excel as a Senior Consultant, you will bring the following experience and attributes to the table:

5+ years of experience in managerial roles within consulting or similar professional settings A background reflecting strong analytical capabilities Strong financial literacy that enables effective interpretation of complex datasets. Project management skills through successful delivery of multi-faceted initiatives involving cross-functional teams Interpersonal strengths, marked by empathy, emotional intelligence, and collaborative spirit Expertise in stakeholder management across diverse groups including Boards of Directors, Executives, operational staff, external partners, and community representatives Experience mentoring or coaching junior professionals; committed to supporting others' growth within collaborative environments Comfortable using AI tools, automation platforms, digital systems for analysis or process optimisation; future-focused mindset embracing technological advancements Passion for sustainable transformation demonstrated through previous involvement in empowerment or socio-economic development projects
