Job Description

Leading construction company based in Woodstock in need of a Site / Construction Manager with a minimum of 5 - 8 years' experience within this industry. The successful candidate must come from an environment which they are experienced and proficient in renovations, alterations and new builds (building works) from a commercial main contractor environment.

You will be responsible for:

All aspects of building from setting out to completion

Progress Reports

Meetings with teams / consultants

Ordering all materials

Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays

Maintaining an excellent standard of quality and building according to project specifications

Manage all on site labour

Perform full pre-inspection to ensure that the site meet the legislated construction regulations

Ensuring that the sites are neat and orderly and adhering to the various working time protocols and procedures

Forward planning of subcontractor and material order requirements

Utilize sound technical knowledge in assessment of building plans and bills of quantities and make recommendations according building and construction methodologies

Procure adequate resources both labour and materials according the project requirements

Effectively manage and monitor production according to the project timeline, aligning variations

Management of the budget and variations of this

Manage health & safety aspect of the project

Professionally represent the employer at external stakeholders i.e., sub-contractors, local authorities, and or clients

Perform site close-out ensuring and provide documentation according contracts requirements

Produce procurement schedules to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks

Supervises and coordinates additional contracted personnel as necessary (sub-contractors & site foreman)

Schedules and monitors all subcontractors and required inspections

Informs and assigns site foreman to specific tasks

Educational Requirements:

National Diploma (Construction / Building)

Minimum of 5 - 8 years' experience with construction / renovations industry

Computer Literate: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Well spoken in Afrikaans and English

Skills:

Strong leadership and team management skills

In-depth knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and safety protocols

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English)

A proactive problem solver with attention to detail
