Hiring: Experienced Project Manager - Municipal Infrastructure & Solid Waste Management
Are you a skilled Project Manager with a passion for municipal development? We're looking for an experienced professional to lead and deliver infrastructure projects within the municipal environment -- with a strong focus on municipal infrastructure and solid waste management.
This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to broader infrastructure initiatives, including wastewater systems, community development infrastructure, and urbanisation-related engineering projects. From initial design through to construction, you'll oversee the full project lifecycle while engaging with clients and ensuring successful project delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To manage and oversee design and construction stage of projects, including undertaking of contract administration, and preparing project management documentation throughout the life cycle of a project, including but not limited to:
o Project Management Plans,
o Project Execution Plans,
o Project Programmes,
o Project Implementation Plans,
o Cashflow Forecasts,
o Works Order Briefs
o Invoicing, and
o Budgets
To manage multidisciplinary engineering design teams and stakeholder inputs,
To oversee technical staff, and ensure task execution by key dates,
Preparing contract documentation and managing contract administration.
Train and Mentor junior staff in project management knowledge areas
Qualifications
Qualifying Undergraduate Degree in the Built Environment (e.g. BSc, BEng, Construction Management, QS, etc.)
PrCPM with SACPCMP (Essential)
A valid driver's license is essential.
Must be medically fit and willing to work on construction sites.
Proficiency in
o Microsoft Office Suite
o MS Projects
Experience
5-10 years' post-graduation experience in project management of municipal infrastructure
Knowledge Areas
- Knowledge of the management and design of solid waste management, infrastructure including lined disposal facilities, refuse transfer stations, etc. (Advantageous)
- Knowledge of municipal environment and processes associated with these environments, (Essential)
- Knowledge of construction project management principles, (Essential)
- Knowledge of construction administration including GCC 2015, JBCC or FIDIC suits of contracts (NEC Advantageous)
