Construction Buyer - Residential Developments
Location: Durbanville, Cape Town
Employer: Established Building Developer
An established and reputable Building Developer with multiple active residential building projects is seeking an experienced Construction Buyer to join their team based in the Durbanville area.
This role is suited to a commercially minded buyer with strong supplier knowledge and solid experience in residential construction procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procuring materials and services for multiple residential building projects
- Placing and tracking purchase orders in Buildsmart
- Negotiating pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Ensuring materials are delivered on time and within budget
- Managing supplier relationships and resolving supply issues
- Working closely with Quantity Surveyors, Site Managers and Project Managers
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and cost control
- Proven experience as a Construction Buyer within the building industry
- Strong construction background
- Buildsmart proficiency is essential
- Solid understanding of construction materials and suppliers
- Strong negotiation and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Office-based role with ongoing project exposure
