Postgraduate Master's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in a non-profit organisation
At least 8 years' experience in media relations and public relations
Proven experience in working with storytelling and demonstrating impact using storytelling
Experience in social return on investment is an advantage
Demonstrated experience in managing knowledge management systems such as a knowledge base of projects and distributing the knowledge within and outside the Organisation
Deep experience in leveraging technologies and tools
Demonstrated experience of working in an environment with a variety of stakeholders across various regions in South Africa
Experience in working with different stakeholders including communities, small businesses, corporate companies, government organisations, aid agencies, international organisations etc. and understanding how to build trust, rapport, manage conflict and challenges
Proven track-record in fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration among employees and key stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy and framework that aligns with organisational vision and objectives.
Ensure that all third-party service providers, consultants, agents and sub-contractors are aware of and comply to all policies and procedures.
Assist Knowledge Manager and other staff in the organisation with reporting and how qualitative data (such as storytelling, photography, interviews, focus groups, observations, surveys, etc.) can assist with capturing the stories, emotions and meanings behind quantitative data and can provide rich insights into the impact of organisations initiatives and activities.
Create and maintain connections and working with different internal stakeholders to develop and execute communication strategies.
Support the CEO, Knowledge manager, the heads of the Entrepreneurial and Social impact streams and other internal staff members in positioning as the organisation of choice in terms of community development, social entrepreneurship and enterprise and supplier development by providing relevant information, meaningful data and impactful stories.
Plan and direct all activities in line with the defined and signed off communication and marketing budgets.
