We are seeking unique people who believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive and safe environment Were on the lookout for an experienced Commodity Specialist within our Sappi Trade SA team to play a critical role in the planning, procurement , warehousing and inbound supply chain execution of key raw materials including sodium chlorate, pulp and caustic soda as well as to manage the accuracy and validity of accounting and sales transactions for Trade SA and exports As a Commodity Specialist, you will be responsible to: * Develop and execute sourcing strategies for tactical, non-category managed, products and as per Trade SA sourcing strategy, framework and, procurement policy. * Assess supplier capabilities and capacities to meet production demands * Collaborate and build strong relationships with relevant teams and key suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of commodities are secured with favourable terms and pricing which meets company standards and regulatory requirements * Perform market analysis monitoring commodity markets, trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed procurement decisions * Execute supply agreements, pricing , terms and conditions with suppliers as per agreement to protect the interests of the company while fostering long term relationships with suppliers * Ensure timely and cost effective delivery of commodities, thereby reducing demurrage expenses and optimising the supply chain * Maintain a high level of supply chain visibility and coordination by consistently meeting the specified timelines for the data acquisition and effective communication with stakeholders * Utilise data analysis tools and SAP to track key performance indicators related to commodity planning and procurement * Analyse and interpret accounting data with variance reporting, reconciling foreign currency exposure and documenting variances * Generate regular reports on commodity related metrics and performance to inform decision making * Calculate and prepare invoices and credit notes for Trade SA for submission relevants teams for further processing What are we looking for: * Relevant Diploma or Degree ( NQF Level 6-7) * A minimum of 5 8 years experience in industrial, procurement or materials management environment or finance. * Experience in the technical and/or manufacturing environment would be beneficial. * SAP MM, Ariba, COPA, RTP and FI experience would be advantageous.
