Job Title: Commercial Finance Analyst

Reporting to: Senior Commercial Operations Manager
Working Setup: Mondays to Fridays, 10:00 to 19:00.

We are committed to providing a simple and efficient platform for businesses to access commercial finance.
The Role:
This is a predominantly analytical and Administrative position, working closely with our brokers based in both South Africa and the UK. The primary function is to assess the financial quality of clients and potential clients, match them with the most suitable lenders, and deliver high-quality funding applications. These applications will span products such as unsecured lending, invoice finance, and asset finance.
We are looking for someone eager to learn and capable of adapting to different lending solutions. This role is particularly well-suited for a candidate interested in pursuing a postgraduate finance qualification, which the business will fully support and fund. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong desire to grow professionally. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also important, as some client and lender interaction may be required. The environment is fast-paced and team-driven, and the ability to be flexible and step outside of defined job responsibilities when needed is essential.
Core Purpose:
The core purpose of this role is to bridge the gap between businesses and lenders by using strong analytical skills to assess financial health, identify appropriate funding matches, and support the creation of compelling finance applications - ultimately contributing to the mission of simplifying and accelerating SME access to finance in the UK.
Responsibilities:

  • Analyse financial statements of clients and identify suitable lenders based on their profiles.
  • Work closely with brokers to present lending offers to clients.
  • Assist in the packaging and processing of funding applications to lenders.
  • Support brokers by gathering and organising necessary documents for funding submissions.
  • Continuously learn about the fundamentals of commercial and corporate finance.
  • Optionally pursue a formal finance qualification, fully supported by the business.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • University Graduate with a relevant qualification (eg BCom)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Enthusiastic to learn about finance, with their eyes on the next formal qualification
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to use them both in a written and verbal context
  • Ability to learn and work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Confident, proactive and positive outlook
  • Team player
Compensation and Incentives:
Base Salary:
  • Monthly base salary: R18,000.00 - R20,000.00 based on experience.
