OUR SCHOOL:

Reddam House Umhlanga is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Preparatory School to provide strong leadership and ensure a holistic and high-quality educational experience for students and staff within the Preparatory School phase. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive learning environment, driving academic excellence, and promoting the overall well-being and development of both students and teachers. This position demands a strategic thinker with exceptional management and interpersonal skills, dedicated to upholding the high standards of Inspired Schools.

ROLE SUMMARY:

To adopt a holistic view to students in your care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to you. To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting lessons Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes learning Behave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework of students Evaluate, reflect on and refine your teaching practice Teach extra lessons when required on two afternoons per week Produce resources for students of a high standard Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation Write report comments Prepare practical learning opportunities for students Undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determine.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Able to set clear expectations and stretching goals Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback Ability to judge learning effectiveness Good time management skills Good interpersonal skills and strong team orientation A minimum of 5 years' teaching experience of English Home Language at an IEB school Matric English teaching and IEB marking experience would be advantageous Previous experience with IEB Programmes Previous experience in a high-performing international school University degree in appropriate subject Certified Teaching Status Appropriate right to work SACE registered.
