Job Description

The CMT Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Metrolifestyle Group to oversee the production line and manage the machinist team, and the procurement of all materials to ensure that all orders are executed in line with Customer Specifications and executed timeously by set deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops a Project Rollout Plan for each order received with clear deliverables, roles for accountability, and deadline for execution and delivery and registers on Workshop Job Card/Calendar. Develops and executes in partnership with designer styles from initial concept to production including Costing and Pricing for Job Cards. Develops and sources in partnership with designer fabric and trims. Manages all samples to ensure their movement through the product development process in co-ordination with the development calendar. Audits and confirms quality in terms of workmanship, specification, and other technical details to ensure the requirements are being followed correctly. Drives quality standards throughout the production stages, including incoming materials to execution of orders by deadlines. Manages strong relationships with Management, Internal Role players and Production Team to implement key initiatives and quality tools in daily production operations. Trouble shoots and makes day to day decisions within defined scope with limited support on resolution of complex production issues Daily Control of Inventory, Logistics, Production Statistics, and Status of All Works Orders. Drives effective communications on the latter subjects with timeous feedback to Management.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 3 Years CMT Manufacturing Experience in Managerial Role or Work Study

University Degree or Diploma Preferred (Textiles Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering/Production Management) Independently ability to identify issues, analyse facts, and make correct decisions regarding complex production issues without undermining required standards Analyses sewing machine operator's skills and provides sewing technique training where necessary. Works closely with design team with strong focus on quality management Consistently evaluates orders and works with other departments to ensure materials are organised on time for production activities, including co-ordination between the production line and cutting department. Ensures safety of everyone in production team through proper training and OHASA compliance. A Team player filled with INNOVATION that is target and deadline focused that "walks the extra mile"
