Job Summary Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer to develop, deploy and support technology capabilities within the Information Technology division. Focus is on Azure Cloud development providing solution capabilities and support for the clients Data Lake in Azure Cloud. This role requires the individual to be the subject matter expert in developing and supporting the Information Services data products within the cloud. Interacting with all relevant business and IT stakeholders to achieve their respective strategic objectives. Qualification Required: Grade 12 BSc Computer Science or Information Technology Microsoft Azure/DevOps relevant certifications Certifications: MS SQL (including SSRS, SSAS and SSIS) and Azure (Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL DW), Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob and/or Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services) Experience Required: 5 years' experience as a Senior C# Developer 5 years' experience in developing and supporting complex systems Expert level understanding of SQL (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, Indexes, Tables, Views, performance query optimization and execution planes) Strong Understanding and active experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and capabilities Azure PaaS Solutions - Event hub, Event grid, Service bus, API management service, Function apps, App services, Logic apps String C# Dotnet Core experience Key Responsibilities: System Development and Analysis : Develop system capabilities in support of business requirements. Analysis and documentation of business requirements. System Operational Support and performance delivery Provide 1 st xc3x82 level operational support for the respective developed systems and capabilities within Azure. Agree and support the system performance capabilities based on agreed SLAs with the respective business stakeholders Build strategic JSE / Industry/ Global network of thought leaders and relationships utilizing social media, attending and presenting at conferences and training interventions. Maintain on-going collaborate relationships with business through structured processes and adhoc customer contact in order to ensure proper understanding of customer needs and delivery of appropriate solutionsxc3x82 Familiarize self with business requirements by attending relevant meetings with associates (developers, testers, business analysts, project managers etc) in order to share knowledge as well as play the expected role in various projectsxc3x82 Comply with the Service Level Agreements by ensuring that applications are developed, implemented and supported in line with cost, quality and timelines Manage own delivery against agreed delivery plan and set timelines, identify obstacles to delivery and take appropriate action where required Receive business requirements and conduct technical impact analysis in order to understand the impact of the required process change and decide on the scope of the project and how it will be deliveredxc3x82 Develop software to meet business requirements utilizing the relevant coding design patterns Conduct unit testing of the code written by to ensure that if fulfils the requirements as set out in the business functional requirements specificationxc3x82 xc3x82 Create supporting documentation in order to ensure that there is an accessible reference detailing how the application was developed and tested, thereby making it easy to support the solution in future and train end users Assist with the deployment of the application into production by providing relevant documentation for deployment, creating a deployment artefact in order to make the system available for business users Support the business during user acceptance testing by resolving any queries and defects in order to ensure delivery of a system that meets business requirements
