Job Description

We are looking for a Clinical Research and Health Systems Analyst to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. This position is well-suited for a registered nurse or healthcare professional with strong research capabilities and a passion for strengthening health systems through data-driven insights, evidence-based approaches, and innovative care models. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating complex clinical, operational, and financial challenges including those related to case management, managed care frameworks, clinical coding practices, and health technology assessment into actionable recommendations for healthcare leaders and policymakers.
The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise and contribute to activities across various projects, working in close collaboration with our Data Science, Health Economics and Health Services and Policy teams.
This is an intellectually stimulating role requiring adept skills in conducting desktop clinical research, interpreting clinical evidence, contribute to technical deliverables, and support the development of strategic recommendations targeted at frontline healthcare service delivery.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct rigorous clinical research, including literature reviews, protocol development, data analysis, and report preparation, using credible sources such as peer-reviewed publications, clinical guidelines, and global best practices to guide evidence-based decision-making.
2. Transform complex clinical and operational issues into evidence-based insights and technical solutions
3. Provide expert clinical input into consulting projects including health policy analysis, service design, technology evaluations, and digital health initiatives.
4. Collaborate with data science teams to validate findings, interpret healthcare data, and ensure clinical relevance of analytics outputs.
5. Partner with project managers to align clinical insights with project goals and client expectations.
6. Engage with diverse stakeholders including policymakers, healthcare leaders, and frontline professionals.
7. Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and internal knowledge sharing
Registered Nurse with valid and up to date registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Pharmacists, Clinical Associates will also be considered
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in hospital, community, or primary healthcare settings.
Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Health Management, Epidemiology, or a related field (advantageous).
Demonstrated experience or interest in health policy, evidence-based medicine, or healthcare administration.
Strong ability to synthesise clinical data and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven experience working in multidisciplinary teams with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data platforms or research tools is an advantage.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
