Clinical Director - pretoriaOur client is a South African, Non-Governmental Organisation with a focus in clinical and social scientific research. They aim to be a world-class health research organisation. The organisation is looking for a Clinical Director. Reporting to the CEO, these will be your key responsibilities:Serve as a key liaison between the Executive Committee and the Clinical functions of the organisation.Serve as a key liaison between the organisation and external sponsors of research projectsEnsure that the clinical functions are streamlined and effectively managed to support the strategic objectives of the organisationOversee the study investigators and provide relevant training, mentorship, and guidance to the investigator team in order to develop the overall site research capacityWill be required to plan strategically, effectively, and flexibly around study-specific requirements and the site's operational requirements .Maintain a balanced and productive equilibrium in the clinic, across all clinical functions (this would include liaison with nurses, lab, and pharmacy teams)Ability to respond to crisis and urgent situations with flexibility, maturity, and resourcefulness.Contribute towards the research and scientific output of the organization You are required to have the following qualifications and experienceMedical degree/ Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and SurgeryRegistration with HPCSAStrong management experience with clinical functions within a research portfolio or environmentClinical Research background with Principal Investigator experience is essentialAn excellent understanding of lab, pharmacy and nursing processes and flows is advantageous
