Civil Engineering Technician - East LondonMinimum Requirements:Grade 12 / MatricBSc/BTech in Civil EngineeringProfessional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa - ECSA (Highly Advantageous)At least 5 years' experience in the design of rural and urban water reticulation systems, pump stations, rising mains and reservoirs and contract administration/Construction Monitoring Responsibilities:Design and Construction monitoring to ensure that project remains within budget and comply with specificationsContract supervision, administration and project reportingResponsible for all aspects of monthly site meetingsPrepare and check monthly progress payment certificates and submit final draftsPrepare, check and submit final draft VOxe2x80x99s for approval with motivationPrepare, correlate and compile all documents and information that may be required to assess and consider any claims submitted by the contractor and submit information with a recommendationImplementation of quality proceduresThorough and quality compliant inspectionsSupervision and mentoring of junior staff in carrying out the above dutiesKey Skills and Competencies:Strong leadership skillsAbility to mentor junior staffExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-motivated and target drivenAbility to work independently as well as within a team
