NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED operates 5 manufacturing sites, offering world class manufacturing facilities in Isando (Johannesburg), Rosslyn (Pretoria), Westmead and Durban (KZN). It is home to some of the best-known South African tea, coffee and creamer brands, including our delicious range of much-loved savoury and sweet biscuits, and our melt-in-your-mouth snack range.

We are looking for a CIVIL GRADUATE to join a company that employs real people to do exceptional things. Your time with us will start in January 2024 and our programme runs for 24 months.

What you will be doing:

• Assist the line manager with integrity assessments of buildings, structures, roads, tunnels, lifts, scaffolding and facilities to protect the health and safety of individuals.
• In conjunction with professional civil consulting firms carry out technical and feasibility studies according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, its Regulations and the relevant SANS standards to achieve compliance
• Develop guidelines, procedures and technical manuals for maintenance and asset care
• Review structural integrity of the site, develop action plans to correct substandard/non-compliance issues
• Devise and prepare small to medium scale civil, structural and infrastructure capital and maintenance projects
• Develop a long term sustainable asset useful life, budgeting and cost report for all civil and facility related property, plant and equipment
• Be coachable, accountable and driven to achieve registration as a professional engineer

What you will need to be considered:

Qualifications:

• Sc or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering
• A minimum average of 60% in the final year of studies
• Must have exceled in the following key modules:

• Structural engineering
• Structural design
• Composite materials
• Advanced materials technology
• Preference will be given to graduates who have completed or will complete their qualification within 5 years

Additional Requirements:

• Any vacation experience or part-time work would be beneficial
• Must be willing to travel between sites
• Must have a drivers license
