Job Description

Job title: Chief Revenue Officer
Location: South Africa (with Regional travel)
Job Purpose:
The CRO is a key member of Sentivs Executive Committee (EXCO), responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and performance of all commercial activities across the organisation, including Direct, Indirect (Channel) and Sell Through (Partnerships).
The role will lead Sentivs sales team, oversee revenue generation, drive customer acquisition and retention, channel and partner development, and ensure alignment with the companys broader mission to deliver mission-critical communications and IoT solutions.
The role is based in South Africa with the key focus to build revenue in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa with selected International geographies.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement Sentivs commercial strategy to deliver sustained revenue growth and market share expansion.
  • Translate the Sentiv corporate objectives:
  • Derisk from Project business to Platform annuity revenue streams
  • Margin improvement and growth
  • Reducing sales cycles, into clear sales targets, forecasts, and execution plans aligned with business strategy
  • Driving industry vertical product and solution development
  • Represent sales at EXCO level, ensuring the voice of the customer and market dynamics are central to decision-making.
Sales & Business Development
  • Lead, coach, and manage the Sales team to achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • Drive key account management, ensuring long-term customer relationships and growth in wallet share.
  • Expand Sentivs footprint in critical communications, IoT, and adjacent markets through targeted customer acquisition.
  • Development of Channel and Partnerships revenue streams.
Commercial Excellence
  • Professionalise sales processes, CRM usage, and opportunity management to create predictable, scalable revenue.
  • Oversee pricing strategies, bid development, and negotiation of major contracts in line with company governance.
  • Ensure high-quality proposals and responses to RFPs, in collaboration with technical pre-sales and bid teams.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with the CEO and fellow EXCO members to align sales priorities with overall corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Operations teams to ensure solutions meet customer needs and market demands.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with key ecosystem players, including OEMs, telcos, and channel partners.
People Leadership
  • Build a high-performance sales culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Mentor and develop sales managers and account executives, ensuring clear succession and talent development pathways.
  • Promote alignment between sales incentives and company performance.
Governance
  • Ensure that all commercial activities, sales contracts, and revenue recognition processes are executed in alignment with corporate governance policies, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide transparent, timely, and accurate reporting to the CEO and EXCO on sales performance, pipeline, risks, and opportunities, while upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and fiduciary responsibility.

Requirements
Essential Experience
  • Minimum of 1215 years in senior sales leadership roles within telecommunications, technology, or related sectors.
  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing sales organisations with demonstrable revenue growth.
  • Strong track record of managing enterprise and public sector customers, including complex solution sales and long sales cycles.
  • Experience in EXCO or senior leadership forums, with exposure to strategy, governance, and corporate decision-making.

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and execution focus.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with comfort in large-scale, complex deals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at C-suite level.
  • Data-driven, with an ability to leverage analytics for forecasting, performance management, and market insights.
  • Strong understanding of mission-critical communications, ICT, and IoT markets is highly advantageous.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Commerce, or related field (required).
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification (preferred).
