Job Description
Job Summary A privately owned, growth-oriented mining company is seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and optimise the performance of its expanding underground mining assets.
As a Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all underground mining operations.
- Drive a culture of safety, operational excellence, and cost efficiency across all sites.
- Lead the engineering and production teams to ensure optimal performance and output.
- Partner with executive leadership to support long-term growth, innovation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), operational plans, and business strategies.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant mining legislation, workplace health and safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Build and lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 15 years' experience in underground mining, with at least 5 years at executive or senior leadership level
- Strong technical understanding of underground mining methods, ventilation, and geotechnical practices
