Rand Water Services, a subsidiary company of Rand Water is looking for a Chief Compliance Officer. The role will provide executive leadership in ensuring Rand Water Services operates with accountability, transparency, fairness, efficiency, and compliance across all legal, regulatory, ethical, and governance requirements.

Minimum Requirements



Minimum

: Appropriate Recognized Degree at NQF Level 8 in Commerce, Accounting, Engineering Sciences, Natural Sciences or equivalent.

Desired

: Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or related field. Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, or compliance certification is desirable.

Minimum:

10 years' experience in governance, compliance, or financial leadership roles. Proven ability to manage compliance in regulated/municipal environments.

Desired

: Registration with a statutory body (SAICA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).

Primary Duties



Develop compliance and governance strategies that embed accountability, transparency, fairness, efficiency, and compliance across the organisation. Manage alignment of compliance frameworks with municipal legislation, water services regulations, and corporate governance standards. Direct enterprise risk management frameworks and maintain transparent reporting on compliance and governance risks. Develop anti-corruption, ethics, and whistleblowing programmes that promote a culture of fairness and accountability. Implement compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations through transparent audits and accountable controls. Manage legal and governance advisory services to maintain policies and frameworks that are compliant and defensible under audit. Direct stakeholder engagement with regulators, auditors, and government bodies to maintain fair and transparent reporting. Administer fraud prevention and internal investigations, maintaining efficiency, accountability, and transparency in outcomes. Direct crisis management and business continuity planning to maintain compliance, transparency, and efficiency in response.

Knowledge



Compliance risk management, governance frameworks, and enterprise risk systems. Municipal and national regulatory requirements. Fraud prevention and ethics management frameworks. Internal audit, assurance, and forensic processes.
