Chemical Engineer - GautengDescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chemical Engineer to join our team in the Biotechnology industry. As a Chemical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, as well as conducting research and analysis to improve existing products and develop innovative solutions.ResponsibilitiesUtilise your expertise in chemical engineering principles to design and develop manufacturing processes for biotechnology products.Conduct research and analysis to optimize existing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, technicians, and production staff, to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.Design and oversee experiments to verify theories and validate process improvements.Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and yield.Create and maintain detailed documentation, including standard operating procedures, technical reports, and batch records.Stay current with industry developments and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into process design and optimization efforts.RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.10 years of experience working as a Chemical Engineer in the biotechnology or bio-pharmaceutical industry.Solid understanding of chemical engineering principles and their application in a biotechnology manufacturing environment.Proficient in the use of process simulation software, such as Aspen Plus or CHEMCAD.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and propose solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements for the biotechnology/biopharma industry.Job Type: Temp to permContract length: 18 monthsSalary: R30,000.00 - R45,000.00 per monthApplication Deadline: 2023/12/15
