The Chef Trainer will serve as a teacher and role model, teaching key skills and inspiring participants to produce top quality meals within the allowed budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Assist with all aspects of production and service of meals including cooking, replenishment and clean up. Complies with Department of Health Standards, all safety procedures, departmental policies and procedures and all applicable regulations. Assist with functions to ensure the best standards are delivered.
Responsibilities:
Train staff on food preparation and cooking as per the needs of the unit
Assist with any back of house duties as per the needs of the unit
Check food to make sure of its quality
Train staff to cook food by a range of methods
Train staff to divide food into portions and make sure that the food is well presented
Train staff to produce top quality food within budget specifications
Train staff on Food Safety & Hygiene according to Company Standards
Train staff to prepare food to meet special dietary requirements
Assist with functions
Assist with any back of house duties as per the needs of the unit
Skills/Experience Required:
Matric and NQF Level 6;
Chef/Culinary Qualification is required;
Formal Assessors Qualification
3 to 5 years training junior chefs and staff essential;
Interest and comfort in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
Valid drivers license and own reliable transport essential;
Ability to be flexible with regards to shifts and weekend work.
