The Chief Financial Officer (based in Johannesburg) will be responsible for the full financial leadership of the business, acting as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and executive team. The role requires a commercially astute, hands-on CFO who can balance strong governance and compliance with operational agility, supporting growth, profitability, and brand excellence within the automotive environment.
The CFO will oversee the end-to-end finance function while contributing meaningfully to strategic decision-making, operational optimisation, and long-term value creation. South African citizens only.
Qualifications & Experience

• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• Proven senior financial leadership experience in the automotive, luxury retail, or similarly complex operational environment.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and governance.
• Exposure to multi-entity or group reporting environments advantageous.
• Experience operating within structured or international brand environments preferred.

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

• Act as a trusted business partner to the MD and Exco, providing commercial insight and financial guidance.
• Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business plans.
• Support pricing, margin management, profitability analysis, and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Provide clear, actionable financial insights to support fast, informed decision-making.

Financial Management & Control

• Full responsibility for monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and statutory financial statements.
• Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks are in place and operating effectively.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Oversee audits (internal and external), tax compliance, and statutory reporting.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, tax legislation, and group reporting requirements.
• Manage financial risk, internal controls, and audit outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, insurance, and compliance requirements appropriate to a top-class automotive brand.

Operational & Cross-Functional Oversight

• Work closely with operations, sales, and aftersales to understand key cost drivers and improve financial performance.
• Support operational efficiency initiatives, systems improvements, and process automation.
• Oversee and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

People & Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Promote ethical leadership, high standards, and strong collaboration across the business.
• Operate as a visible, engaged, and approachable leader

Technical & Commercial Skills

• Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge.
• Solid commercial acumen with the ability to translate numbers into business decisions.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of cash flow, working capital, and profitability drivers.
