Introduction

Consult is a registered Financial Service Provider (FSP), holding an FSB Category FSP I and II license. The business dispenses financial planning, product advice, product execution and investments management services to individuals and businesses in the high net worth, affluent, retail upper and small business enterprises (SMExe2x80x99s) market.

Consult is a Registered Financial Advice firm (RFA), allowing us to offer our clients product solutions of all the major life, health, saving, investments, short term, and employee benefits providers in South Africa. We have contracts with numerous product providers to meet the clientxe2x80x99s unique needs.

Consult is one of South Africaxe2x80x99s largest and most respected financial planning and advice specialists with a national footprint of 350 financial advisers, including specialist short term advisers, spanning across South Africa. Role Purpose

Formulate the Consult practice network strategy of a corporately owned financial advice channel. Influence horizontal wide adaptation, with a specific focus on addressing the needs of clients in the High nett worth, affluent, retail upper segment. Ensure the expansion, profitability and sustainability of the business whilst delivering on the purpose to empower individuals and businesses to manage and enhance their financial wellness.
Requirements

  • 10+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the financial services industry
  • 7+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in senior leadership positions
  • 5 - 8 yearsxe2x80x99 insurance / wealth management / sales and distribution, advice and product experience
  • Post-graduate qualification
  • Professional designation (CA, Attorney, Actuary)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Duties & Responsibilities

Internal Process
  • Deliver on the growth strategy through developing the business strategy and execution, operating model design and implementation, channel expansion and growth, shareholder and board engagement and management, business management, governance framework and risk management, regulatory and statutory reporting, operational excellence, brand and marketing strategy.
  • Ensure all systems and processes are compliant to relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Drive the creation and implementation of the businessxe2x80x99 strategic policies and plans.
  • Ensure Intermediary value proposition, client value proposition and employee value proposition are realised through sound practice expansion and the correct engagement/experience recipe.
  • Accountable for the creation of an operations plan that aligns to and supports the businessxe2x80x99 strategy, goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the alignment of operational departments / functional teams into a collaborative group that focuses on achieving goals and continuous improvement.
  • Review and provide direction for updated and new operations policies (e.g., pricing, new products, training) to continuously improve customer satisfaction and impact.
  • Oversee the development of initiatives that will continuously improve the organisationxe2x80x99s service delivery capability.
  • Review and provide direction for changes to optimise organisational processes, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation of practices which build service delivery excellence and encourage others to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Regularly review progress via management reporting developed and delivered by Executive team.
  • Accountable for the implementation of corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics policies in multiple practice areas to identify and manage risk exposure liability.
  • Lead the C-Suite Executives, maintaining an understanding of issues affecting overall business effectiveness and collaborating towards setting strategic direction.
  • Drive the achievement of growth targets, management of margins and expenses of investment portfolios.
Drive a client-centric culture (Client Services)
  • Ensure the client centric financial planning, advice and product solutions, stakeholder engagement (product suppliers, service providers, outsource providers, engagement with franchise principals and sales/service staff, manage the business according to treating customer fairly outcomes.
  • Ensure client value proposition is realised through the engagement recipe.
  • Provide effective and consistent service delivery and support to all internal and external clients.
  • Ensure collaboration with product houses and other stakeholders in order to execute on strategy.
  • Ensure the engagement and retention of clients.
  • Ensure understanding of segment needs and strategic alignment thereof.
  • Define and influence service models across functions to ensure continued client satisfaction, value chain integration and optimisation.
  • Drive an aligned client service excellence culture, which enables rewarding relationships, allows team to provide exceptional client service and ensures that clients are treated fairly.
  • Drive efforts to better understand client requirements and align service offering with client needs.
  • Strategically direct service delivery to meet internal and external customer after sales needs, expectations and targets.
Effectively lead team (People)
  • Develop, implement and manage a People Capability plan that ensures that the function has the human resources and skills required to deliver on the strategy for the short-, medium- and long-term.
  • Identify, attract, appoint, grow, engage, reward and retain top talent to drive strategic execution.
  • Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values.
  • Drive a culture that guides and directs best practice, fostering an environment of continuous learning, improvement and cohesiveness.

Drive sound financial and corporate governance practices (Finance)
  • Responsible for the financial management of the entity ensuring the delivery of strategic and operational objectives Drive the achievement of sales targets across products and market channels to achieve set strategic financial goals.
  • Ensure that the functional strategy is adequately budgeted for through the development and implementation of a fit for purpose budget.
  • Drive the development and implementation of governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks throughout the functional area.
  • Ensure knowledge of alignment to and compliance with King III.
  • Influence the consolidation of the risk profile for own functional area, manage critical risks and ensure resolution feedback to all parties.
  • Influence the implementation of effective financial control, management of costs and corporate governance in functional area of accountability.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and drive the alignment of own function's operating models.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient day to day running of the business within regulatory governance frameworks. Financial framework, long term financial model, manage return on equity and shareholders expectations, financial management.
