The Campus General Manager provides senior leadership and strategic oversight for all operations at the Buhle Campus facility. This position ensures integrated management of agricultural production, training delivery, facility operations, and commercial activities to achieve organizational objectives of profitability, educational excellence, and sustainable development. The role drives strategic planning, operational efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and organizational growth while maintaining the campus's dual mandate of commercial viability and skills development impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Leadership & Organizational Management (25% of role)
Strategic Planning & Implementation:
Develops and implements comprehensive strategic plans for campus operations aligned with organizational vision and mission
Establishes annual business plans, operational budgets, and performance targets across all departments
Leads strategic decision-making processes and provides executive oversight for major initiatives
Monitors organizational performance against strategic objectives and implements corrective actions
Drives innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across all campus operation
Organizational Leadership:
Provides visionary leadership and direction to all department managers and campus staff
Ensure adherence organizational culture, values, and performance standards
Facilitates cross-departmental collaboration and integration of operations
Leads organizational change management and transformation initiatives
Ensures alignment of departmental objectives with overall organizational strategy
2. Commercial Operations & Financial Management (20% of role)
Commercial Strategy & Profitability:
Oversees all commercial activities including animal production, crop production, and training services revenue generation
Develops pricing strategies, market positioning, and competitive advantage initiatives
Monitors profitability across all revenue streams and implements optimization strategies
Establishes commercial partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances
Drives business development initiatives and market expansion opportunities
Financial Management & Control:
Manages overall campus budget operations
Provides financial oversight and approval authority for major expenditures and investments
Monitors financial performance across all operations
Prepares comprehensive reports and presentations for CEO
Ensures compliance with organization financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
3. Training & Skills Development Oversight (15% of role)
Training Program Management:
Provides strategic oversight for all training and skills development programs
Ensures alignment of training delivery with national skills development priorities and industry needs
Monitors training quality, accreditation compliance, and learner outcomes
Establishes partnerships with training authorities, government departments, and industry bodies
Drives curriculum development and training methodology improvements
Farmer Support & Community Development:
Oversees comprehensive farmer support and extension services programs
Establishes community engagement strategies and rural development initiatives
Monitors impact of training and support services on beneficiary communities
Coordinates with government departments and NGOs for development program implementation
Ensures compliance with skills development and transformation requirements
4. Production Operations Management (15% of role)
Agricultural Production Oversight:
Provides oversight for all animal production and crop production operations
Ensures integration and optimization of production systems for maximum profitability
Monitors production performance, efficiency, and quality standards across all enterprises
Establishes production targets, resource allocation, and performance management systems
Coordinates production planning with market demand and commercial objectives
Infrastructure & Resource Management:
Oversees maintenance and development of campus infrastructure and facilities
Ensures optimal utilization of equipment, technology, and physical resources
Coordinates with maintenance and security teams for operational efficiency
Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
5. Stakeholder Management & External Relations (15% of role)
Government & Regulatory Relations:
Manages relationships with government departments, regulatory bodies, and training authorities
Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, reporting obligations, and statutory compliance
Represents the organization at government forums, industry associations, and policy development initiatives
Coordinates responses to regulatory changes, policy developments, and compliance requirements
Maintains accreditation status and manages regulatory inspections and audits
Industry & Commercial Partnerships:
Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with industry leaders, suppliers, and commercial partners
Represents the organization at industry conferences, trade associations, and professional forums
Negotiates contracts, supply agreements, and commercial partnerships
Establishes market intelligence networks and competitive analysis capabilities
Drives thought leadership and organizational reputation management
6. Organizational Development & Risk Management (10% of role)
Human Resources & Organizational Development:
Provides leadership for organizational development, talent management, and succession planning
Oversees recruitment, development, and retention of key management personnel
Implement performance management systems and organizational capability development
Ensures compliance with labour relations, employment equity, and human resources policies
Drives organizational culture development and employee engagement initiatives
Risk Management & Governance:
Establishes comprehensive risk management frameworks and mitigation strategies
Monitors operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks
Ensures implementation of governance structures, policies, and procedures
Coordinates crisis management and business continuity planning
Maintains insurance coverage, legal compliance, and corporate governance standards
Prepares reports and presentations for CEO
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Education & Certification
Minimum
: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Agricultural Management, or related field
Preferred
: Post Graduate diploma/degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, or Management
Required
: Valid driver's license (Code B minimum)
