Butcher Block, one of South Africa's leading steakhouse brands, is looking for an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to join our team and lead operations at one of our vibrant locations.
Key Responsibilities
As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for:
Daily Operations
: Oversee the smooth running of front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
Staff Management
: Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate staff to deliver top-tier customer service and maintain team morale.
Customer Experience
: Ensure an exceptional dining experience through quality control, fast service, and customer engagement.
Stock & Inventory
: Manage stock levels, ordering, waste control, and stocktakes to reduce shrinkage and improve margins.
Financial Performance
: Assist with budgeting, cash-ups, cost control, and daily reporting to meet revenue targets.
Health & Safety Compliance
: Maintain hygiene, safety, and COVID compliance in line with health regulations.
Marketing & Promotions
: Support in-store promotions, events, and community engagement initiatives to drive foot traffic.
Minimum Requirements
3-5 years of experience
as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager in a high-volume restaurant.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication, time-management, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Knowledge of restaurant POS systems, stock systems, and daily cash-up procedures.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per hospitality industry norms.
Formal hospitality or business management qualification is an advantage
