In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing new capabilities, and expanding our market footprint.
You'll lead key projects, from maximizing our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) operations to identifying new opportunities.
We are looking for a visionary who can not only craft a compelling implementation plan but also manage the day-to-day operations to ensure our strategic goals are met.

  • Develops and implements an actionable plan to bring about the new strategic direction of the business.
  • Responsible for the project management function that ensures effective execution of the strategic plan.
  • Responsible for delivering the objectives and KPIs for all the strategic initiatives/work streams in the strategic plan.
  • Responsible for managing all change management aspects of the strategic plan.
  • Supports the General Manager in the day to day running of the business.
  • Identifies and assesses medium to long-term sustainability opportunities and ensures brand innovation is aligned to brand strategy and positioning.
  • Leads identified strategic projects where relevant.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring for the sales/marketing team in areas of expertise.
  • Identify new commercial, industrial, and municipal waste management opportunities aligned to the clients operational capabilities.
  • Prospecting targeted (cold calls, site visits etc).
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients .
  • Engage in business forums, ESD programs, green industry events, networking etc.
  • Represent the client at expos and industry stakeholder engagements (CSIR, NCPC, SAPRO, etc.) Work with operations to identify and source new waste streams
  • Business Development: Secure new off-take agreements, build B2B relationships, and negotiate pricing for recyclables like paper and plastics.
  • Account Management: Serve as a key account manager for municipal and private clients, focusing on client retention and service improvement.
  • Tenders & Proposals: Track and respond to upcoming bids, support the development of implementation plans, and draft business proposals.
  • Strategic Growth: Conduct market research on circular economy trends and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), propose new projects, and identify opportunities for business expansion.
  • Project Management: Trace and report on project progress and manage risks to ensure successful project execution
  • Understanding of the running requirements of equipment and machinery such as balers, compactors, forklifts, front end loaders.
