Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. This full-time, on-site role forms part of a strategic growth initiative within the industrial equipment sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in launching and expanding a new range of high-value products in the local market, supported by robust technical and operational infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Conduct market analysis to identify target sectors, growth opportunities, and key competitors.
Drive full-cycle B2B sales, from prospecting to closing.
Build a sales pipeline and meet revenue targets across both equipment categories.
Engage potential customers in logistics, warehousing, industrial, and commercial sectors.
Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate new and competitive markets.
Deliver product demonstrations and support application-specific solution design.
Collaborate closely with internal service, technical, and operational teams for successful onboarding and retention.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience in capital equipment sales (preferably forklifts, cleaning machines, or related industrial machinery).
Strong technical ability and confidence in performing demonstrations.
Proven track record of opening new accounts and driving growth.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and high resilience.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally.
