Job Summary I am looking for a dedicated and talented Business Development Associate to join a team operating in Telecom Solutions / Renewable Energy. This is your chance to actively contribute to our mission of expanding solar-hybrid assets for telecommunications infrastructure across Africa.

Your Role:
As a Business Development Associate, you will be at the forefront of our Telecom Solutions team, utilizing your expertise to make a meaningful impact:
Primary Responsibilities:

• Become an Industry Expert: Develop an in-depth understanding of the telecom sector, its key players, business models, and value drivers.
• Due Diligence: Conduct thorough desktop due diligence on potential projects and clients to ensure informed decision-making.
• Tailored Proposals: Work closely with clients to understand their business drivers and priorities, crafting bespoke proposals that align with their specific needs.
• Financial Modelling: Take ownership of the financial model for solar tariff pricing, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
• Client Analysis: Analyse customer financial statements and perform due diligence on potential clients.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Manage electronic communication with client stakeholders across various functions and organizational levels.
• Contract Expertise: Populate and adapt initial drafts of solar financing contracts, including power purchase agreements, leases, and loans.
• Pipeline Management: Track and assess data about our sales pipeline and active projects, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Investment Support: Assist in project Investment Committee approvals through the preparation of summary materials and due diligence reports.

Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate:

• 2+ years of experience in management consulting, financial advisory, or investment at a top-tier firm.
• A strong professional network across multiple African countries, particularly East or West Africa.
• Work experience at a renewable energy company, with a focus on East or West Africa.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in the energy or telecom sector.
• Work experience in emerging markets.
• 2+ years of work experience in an international business role.
• Expert-level proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
