Job Description

Seeking a Business and Reporting Controller for a international energy business. The company is based in Johannesburg North with a hybrid working model. This position reports into the Group Financial Manager and will partner with the Financial Manager to ensure accurate deliverables.

Position: Business and Reporting Controller
Location: Johannesburg North (Hybrid model)
Salary: R 700 000 to R 750 000

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive profitable growth by analyzing and reporting platform performance
• Related improvement and analysis projects
• Keep management team informed on the performance of the platform
• Business partner with the different lines of business
• Reporting and analysis requests as needed by the business lines that support management decision
• Implement and ensure strong controls and compliance
• Ensure that policies are understood across the group
• Financial Planning and Analysis
• Finance planning and performance management processes
• Financial Modelling to support operational decisions
• Follow up with all entities to ensure all information is reported on time and accurately, together with the Financial Manager
• Engage with operation teams to understand business operations, financial impacts and significant adjusting events
• Review analysis for each entity for the accuracy of actuals year to date reported, variance explanations provided for Actuals vs Budget, Actuals vs. Prior year and forecasts
• Complete management reporting for Opex and Working capital
• Analysis of the P&L
• Review budget assumptions and financial data provided by all local entities
• Compliance and control by ensuring that the activities comply with IFRS and the general business principals

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• People-centric, able to partner with different lines of the business
• Excellent management and leadership skills
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Good understanding of management accounting
• Compliance and Control
• Good understanding of IFRS
• Knowledge of consolidation
• Preferably from the mining, energy or construction industry
