Role summary:



Multi-Skilled Technician (Tech) is responsible you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment and will report to the on-site Technical Lead. This position belongs to the Corporate Real Estate Services function of the FMCG's industry JLL client, to be based in Durban, South Africa.



What this job involves:



As a Multi-Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment. Your primary duties will include:

Perform predictive, conductive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks in line with JLL and client SOPs, EOPs, SSOWs, and playbooks.

Assist with safety access and permits to work, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.

Oversee contractors' work, ensuring quality and adherence to safety standards.

Provide site technical knowledge and support to the team and clients.

Complete work orders accurately and on time using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Perform maintenance and repairs in the following areas:

Electrical: Maintain and repair electrical components and equipment

Mechanical:

Check equipment and operating systems, perform preventive maintenance

Plumbing:

Maintain waste water systems, perform patch repairs

Painting:

Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture

Carpentry:

Perform basic carpentry tasks as required



Conduct routine site inspections to ensure all building processes and best practices are implemented and maintained.

Respond to emergency calls and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.

Collaborate with the Facilities Coordinator to ensure smooth operation of all facility services.



Required Qualifications:



3-5 years of experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Strong technical skills in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry

Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures

Familiarity with CMMS systems and work order management

Understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and blueprints



Preferred Qualifications:



Relevant trade certifications (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing)

Experience in FMCG manufacturing environments

Knowledge of energy management systems and practices

Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems



Specific Skills Needed:



Proficiency in using various hand and power tools

Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

Strong organizational and time management skills

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency calls as needed

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
