Oversee the safety, health environment, and quality assurance aspect of the organisation including the development, management, supervision of the systems to ensure that the facilities or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and as per ISO requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the implementation of people & SHEQ culture strategies and initiatives that align with BlackMagic business strategy.
Act as an ambassador for and driving the full implementation of the Group values by all employees.
Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management.
Execute and drive SHEQ culture that promotes positive support for implementation of a SHE Policy and related procedures.
Implement the overall SHEQ strategy, processes, and tools across the BU, monitor report any potential risk.
Ensure protection of employees, contractors, visitors, and tenants through implementation of procedures and SHEQ plans.
Enforce and oversee the execution of occupational health and safety related surveys e.g., noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances.
Implement the health management strategy.
Monitor organisational compliance to health regulations and identify and report any potential risk.
Utilise external and internal resources to identify all potential health hazards and associated causes that may adversely impact on the employees and neighbours and set objectives to counter the source.
Execute and implement the company's Environmental Management strategy and oversee the implementation thereafter.
Identify process deviations that result in the generation of waste, environmental pollution, or energy loss, so that corrective action programmes can be implemented. (Design a process)
Drive standardization of SOPs, processes, and reporting across the entire group and audit compliance, identify and report potential risk
Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements in conjunction with management and reviewing sub-contractors risk assessments.
Maintain sound relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as clients, government agencies and suppliers.
Collate, submit, and present of a monthly MANCO report.
Skills Required
o 3 - 5 years of Safety, Health, and/or Environmental experience at a tactical and managerial level.
o Experience in mining and/or Logistics industry is advantageous.
