Job Description

Job Purpose

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and day-to-day operations of the K. Carrim Hardware branch. This role ensures excellent customer service, effective stock control, strong sales performance, and efficient staff management while upholding company policies and values.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

Oversee daily branch operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
Sales & Customer Service

Drive sales growth and meet or exceed branch targets Ensure excellent customer service and handle escalated customer complaints Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers
Staff Management

Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate branch staff Prepare staff duty rosters and manage attendance and performance Conduct performance evaluations and implement disciplinary procedures where necessary
Stock & Inventory Control

Monitor stock levels, ordering, receiving, and merchandising Minimize stock losses, damages, and shrinkage Conduct regular stock counts and ensure accurate record-keeping
Financial Management

Manage branch budgets and control expenses Ensure accurate cash handling, banking, and daily financial reporting Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to improve profitability
Administration & Reporting

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports Ensure accurate documentation, invoicing, and record maintenance Liaise with head office regarding operational and financial matters
Requirements & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Branch Manager or Assistant Manager (preferably in hardware, retail, or building materials) Strong leadership and people management skills Sound knowledge of hardware products and retail operations Excellent communication and customer service skills Basic accounting and stock control knowledge Computer literacy (POS systems, MS Office)
