The St James on Venice Boutique Hotel is seeking an experienced and hands-on

Boutique Hotel Manager (Live-In)

to manage the daily operations of a 15-room boutique hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for guest satisfaction, staff management, operational efficiency, and administrative coordination, in line with South African labour legislation and CCMA best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily hotel operations including reception, housekeeping, breakfast service, and maintenance Ensure excellent guest service and handle guest complaints professionally Supervise, train, schedule, and manage staff fairly and consistently Oversee rosters, attendance, leave, and performance management Manage reservations, rates, and availability across booking platforms Event planning and Functions, Conferences Venue Costings on events and hotel menu Work closely with the creditors/debtors clerk to support invoicing, expense control, and debtor follow-ups Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company policies Compile daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Guest satisfaction and online review ratings Occupancy levels and revenue performance Cost control and administrative accuracy Staff performance, attendance, and compliance Timely and accurate reporting

Requirements:

5-10 years' experience in hotel or boutique hospitality management Strong leadership, organizational, and guest service skills Experience with PMS systems and online booking platforms Strong administrative and financial coordination skills Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays Experience using GAAP is essential
