The Bookkeeper manages and maintains accurate financial records for a leading transport company, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and supporting budgeting and reporting. This role ensures compliance with financial policies and provides reliable data to support operational and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities :
Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Maintain the general ledger and reconcile accounts.
Process invoices, supplier payments, and customer receipts.
Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
Generate financial reports for management as required.
Keep accurate and organized financial records.
Requirements :
Matric / Grade 12
Bookkeeping or accounting qualification.
2-5 years' bookkeeping experience preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, Sage).
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of VAT, payroll, and basic tax compliance.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
