Job Overview
Palanga Publishing & Training Academy specializes in Maths education and runs My Maths Buddy program for teachers and learners in many schools across South Africa.
Our main line of business is to sell and deliver My Maths Buddy programs in schools, but we also want to start selling our books to parents via a bookstores/agents' network in South Africa to get the My Maths Buddy dictionary and supplementary materials to as many parents as we can so it can help their children to understand Maths better and thus succeed in the subject.
The company has a customer list of around 160 bookstores that at some point in the past have purchased My Maths Buddy dictionaries from us and sold them on to their customers. These stores are different PNAs, Van Schaiks and individual books and stationaries shops.
We also have a wide range of schools' customers and prospects lists who have purchased our programs or books before.
Your main functions as the BSA (Bookstores Sales Administrator) would then be:
- Work with the customers and prospects schools to include the My Maths Buddy dictionary onto their recommended/prescribed list. Keep on increasing the list of schools who have our books on their recommended/prescribed lists.
- Work with the book outlets who have their network of schools and help to promote books to the schools, so they buy the stock from those book outlets
- Work with the network of book outlets that we have such as PNAs, Van Schaik, individual stores, etc. to create customer relationships, promote the books to them to purchase, train their staff on the benefits of our products, run games with the stores with the purpose of stocking up on the company's products.
- Your main KPIs will be the number of books sold to bookstores and the income from the sales.
- You will be paid a basic salary of R14 000 plus commission structure based on the number of books you sell to the book outlets network. Your petrol will be reimbursed weekly.
- Keeping admin in on all the stores (in the computer and files)
- Analyzing performance of all the book outlets and coming up and executing sales and marketing strategies with these book outlets
- Producing performance reports
- Constantly building relationships with retail bookstores such as PNA, Van Schaik, Aristata and many independent stores as well.
- Implementing strategies to keep stock moving through the book outlets to the end customer so they continue to order more stock which will then create a stream of income to the company.
- Visting stores and training and activating the store floor attendants to make sure that they promote our book as the number 1 solution for Maths to their customers.

Experience needed:
1. Prior experience in working with book outlets.
2. Prior experience in working with schools and recommended lists.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. You must have a
reliable vehicle and driver's license
so that you can go around and visit schools and different book outlets.
2. You must be a
matric graduate.
3. You must have
excellent communication skills
and being able to talk to the store managers/owners.
4. You must have
great telephonic skills and have no back off from talking to people on the phone.
5. You must be
energetic and willing to engage with the customer
.
6. You must have
good customer relations skills
and be able to build the rapport with our clients instantly.

You must be target driven with self-discipline and good work ethic
. Target set is target met, and this is the attitude that would be most appropriate for this position and would be expected of you to uphold.

You must be located within 30-40 minutes radius from the office maximum
. Our address is 89 Studio Office Park, 5 Concourse Crescent, Lonehill. It is not a remote position you will need to work from the office.
Schedule:
Normal office hours are from 8:00 am till 16:30 pm.
Conditions of employment:
We will offer 3 months fixed contract. Every month a person will have a target to achieve, and we will do performance evaluation and an interview at the end of each month. If a candidate is way off their targets the contract will not be renewed after 3 months. Only when a person shows he or she can produce and achieve the targets set within the 3 months of employment, will this person be given a permanent position in the company. Training will be provided.
