Repair and maintain mechanical aspects of all drills within set standards on site
Ensure adherence to safety standards
Participate in safety meetings
Identify actions that could prevent and improve safety and work performance
Report any safety related grievances or issues to the safety rep or Drill Production Manager
Promote safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
Identify and demarcate hazards that could affect safety and operational activities
Check all safety measures and devices
Effective fixing and maintenance of drills
Record all parts and materials used
Inform Manager of parts to be ordered
Observe and obtain information from all relevant sources (e.g. operator) to diagnose problems or defects
Examine parts for defects such as breakages and excessive wear
Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
Study blueprints and manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation and operation of drills
Servicing, repair, adjusting of all machines, devices, moving parts and equipment operating on mechanical principles
Modify drills or provide customised alterations to the mechanical parts of the system
Shape and fabricate parts
Watching gauges and other indicators to ensure machine is working
Fill out all required documentation after completing task
N3 Qualification as Boilermaker
Qualified Artisan
Two years experience as an Boilermaker
Knowledge of machines and tools
Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools required in the construction of houses, buildings and/or other structures
Repairing machines
Installing equipment, machines
Conducting tests and inspection of products
Performing routine maintenance on equipment
Troubleshooting
Controlling equipment
Determine correct equipment to use for specific tasks
