We are seeking an enthusiastic and animal loving individual for an entry level position as a Bird Show Presenter/ Trainer. The successful candidate will be responsible for training birds and presenting daily bird demonstrations to the public. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a variety of bird species and share your passion for avian education and conservation with visitors.
CORE DUTIES:
Training of birds for demonstrations using positive reinforcement and evidence-based methods.
Present engaging and informative bird presentations to the public in English, promoting education and conservation.
Conducting daily inspection, monitor animal behaviour, maintaining accurate records. Collaborate with the team to ensure the health and well-being of all show birds
Develop and implement enrichment programs for show birds to enhance their welfare.
Assist with veterinary care and procedures as needed.
Perform husbandry related tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the birds.
REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant qualifications in animal behaviour, animal care or a related field.
1 -3 years of experience in animal care.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly and confidently. Experience in public speaking is a significant advantage.
The ideal candidate will posses excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
This person will be expected to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in inclement weather conditions. A high level of physical fitness is essential for this position.
Be able to work weekends, public holidays and overtime.
