STAFF VACANCY

VACANCY: BIOKINETICIST (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Biokineticist to join our multidisciplinary team on a fixed term contract (3 years). The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for health, wellness, and functional movement, and demonstrate experience working with a diverse client base, including individuals with special needs.

REQUIREMENTS

Conducting fitness assessments and creating personalized exercise programs for clients Conduct Functional Movement Screenings Coordinate all sport and physical activities to fit into the work area schedule and overall calendar. Continue with the established Let's Get Moving Activities Liaising with Stellenbosch University Sport Science department and Adapt2Move lab Maintaining accurate client records and progress reports Ensuring that equipment and facilities are clean and well-maintained. Collaborating with other health professionals as needed Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team and Work Area Manager on a daily basis Facilitation of group as well as individual exercise programs Training of staff to fulfil home programs and rehabilitation instructions prescribed after hospitalisation or acute injury.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Must have the ability to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Excellent planning and time management skills.

A friendly, calm, presentable and professional demeanour.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Highly responsible and dependable.

Highly motivated, energetic and ability to function under pressure.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Valid Driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Police Clearance Certificate.

Afrikaans and English (read, speak, write) compulsory.

Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Biokineticist.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Biokinetics

Registration with HPCSA, BASA and MPI

EXPERIENCE

Experience in working with persons with special needs / intellectual disabilities will be an advantage.
