Purpose of this Role:



To run the allocated jobs on the B.C.F machine, to produce product according to the shift production plan, in line with the agreed quality standards and product specifications during an allocated shift to ensure that Belgotex Customer Service, Volume and operational efficiencies are realized through efficient production, adherence to plan and high-quality output of manufactured product.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS:


Responsible for threading and stringing up of positions on the machine using an aspirator. Responsible for removing full bobbins from the winder bobbin tray and placing the correct bobbin stickers on the inside of each cone. Responsible for ensuring that loose ends of yarn are tied around each bobbin and ensuring that complete bobbins are wrapped in plastic packets. Once the bobbins are packed, they need to be packed into the correct crates. The crates are sent to the warehouse. Responsible for ensuring that there are always two empty cones on the winder for the next doff as the machines are continuous. The winder is divided into two parts, when the top part is in motion the bottom part is ready for when the bobbins are complete to swap. Responsible for ensuring that the machine positions are thoroughly cleaned by opening doors and clearing all drip trays below the godets as fluff and oil accumulates on the positions. Ensure that godets are wiped with a damp rag and clean the Texturizers with a Pig's hairbrush and water after every break to remove spin finish oil and loose yarn from godet and tex. Must be willing to learn to operate all types of machines found in BCF, meaning that you will be rotated and multiskilled in machine operating. Responsible for ensuring that substandard bobbins of yarn are isolated and placed into the correct graded crates to be sent to the yarn cut operators in Recycling. Responsible for fetching all new boxes of cones from the storage area in the old tower. Yarn carriers are used on winders to wrap yarn onto, empty boxes are discarded. Responsible for ensuring that the same number of bobbins go into the crates. Responsible for removing full crates as well as fetching of empty crates. Responsible for communicating and escalating issues to the Supervisor/manager (e.g. broken ceramics, blocked oil applicators, tex o-rings). Responsible for housekeeping and keeping the machine and area around it clean. Work within the company and departments rules and regulation. Must be able to follow any reasonable instruction given by Supervisor. Observe and adhere to Health and Safety requirements.


Grade 12/Matric with Maths is essential. CTFL Learnership or Carpet Technology or a recognized production course is advantageous 6 months experience as a machine operator is essential. Working Experience within the Extrusion Departments (BCF, Fibre) will be an added advantage. Must be physically fit as the job involves a lot of bending, picking up and packing by hand. Good knowledge and understanding of ISO 90001 is advantageous Must be willing to Work a 4-shift system. * Must not be colour blind- bobbins of yarn are sorted by colour into the correct crates. Different numbers are allocated to different colours of bobbins.
