As the BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) Officer your role will involve managing the company's compliance with South African BEE legislation, including managing verification audits, developing internal strategies for transformation and empowerment, analyzing BBBEE data and scorecards, and educating staff on BEE requirements. Key responsibilities include preparing documentation for verification agencies, providing quarterly updates to management, and ensuring compliance with BEE Codes and sector-specific issues.
Typical Responsibilities
Manage Verifications:
Oversee the annual BBBEE verification process by the appointed agency, ensuring all submitted data is accurate and complete.
Develop Strategy:
Create and implement strategies to achieve BBBEE targets, including managing transformation and empowerment within the organization.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze monthly BBBEE data and scorecard scenarios, making recommendations for corrective actions and presenting quarterly progress reports to executive management.
Education & Training:
Educate employees on BBBEE Codes and related legislation, and potentially participate in the development of training programs.
Liaise with Agencies:
Act as a key liaison between the company and the SANAS-accredited verification agency .
Document Management:
Ensure all required documentation and information meet the verification requirements and are prepared accurately and efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications A suitable qualification in the relevant field, possibly with additional BEE or HR-related courses.
A minimum of three to five years of experience in BEE.
Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
Excellent communication, mediation, and people skills to engage with various stakeholders.
The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
A passion for personal and organizational development in the area of transformation.
